What is Argos Monitoring and Alerting?

Argos is our Monitoring and Alerting Service that we provide to small businesses and managed service providers who need an easy and inexpensive way to monitor everything in their environment. With Argos, you can monitor every aspect of every server, switch, router, firewall, website or just about anything else. When something needs attention an alert is sent out via email or text message and also show up in a web console. This way you're never in the dark. The best part is there is nothing to buy or maintain since we provide everything as a service at only $3.95 per device per month. For example, that's less than $20 a month to monitor three servers, a switch, and a router.

Why use Argos?

That's easy. Well, for starters here are a few good reasons...

It's a flat rate of just $3.95 a month per device monitored.

We only charge a flat rate of just $3.95 per month per device no matter what we monitor on that device. Unlike others, we don't charge you for every individual item you monitor and nickel and dime you to death. We also don't charge you extra to send you emails and text messages. Historical data is kept for at least 30 days. Most people don't really need more than 30 days but if you do then we can setup monitoring of devices for longer historical periods for a small additional cost. Otherwise monitor as much as you'd like.

As an example, the average Windows Server we monitor has between 80 and 120 items that are monitored at any given time right out of the box from CPU, Memory, Networks, Drives, Services, Performance Counters, Power, and Events. To get the same level of monitoring from other companies would cost you 10X to 20X more since they charge by every single item you monitor.

You don't need to be technical to use it.

Most importantly you don't have to be technical to use it.  Our service was designed for the small to medium business owners who just need it to work without having to waste time learning every technical detail.  Knowing that we start off using templates that apply dozens to hundreds of pre-defined items to monitor based on best practices. We can also add anything else you may need to monitor. Need to monitor who logs in and when? Want to be notified when a problem shows up in a log for your business application? Just let us know and we'll set it up for you. It's that simple. We do all the technical work so you don't have to, all for that same flat rate.

We are a secure cloud-based service, not some software you buy.

You don't have to build a monitoring server, maintain it, or need staff with the skills needed to use it. Instead, we do all that and provide you a secure website to access all your information from anywhere 24/7.

When there is a problem Alerts are sent via emails and text messages. We can even setup escalations so that first the technical staff can be alerted and if they don't respond it can be escalated to their managers, then the owners, etc. If needed we can also become part of the escalation chain so that ultimately someone gets notified when there is a problem before it gets out of hand. If we get the escalation, we'll call you on the phone to let you know.

We take security very seriously. Communication between the agents we install on your systems and our servers are always secure and encrypted using the same technology used to secure credit card transactions online but at even higher encryption standards. The same goes for your web-based access to your monitored systems so you can view graphs, historical data, and even reports.

Our service allows you to be proactive and spot trends so you know about things BEFORE they happen.

Sometimes things do happen without warning even with all the preparation in the world. In those cases, such as when power is lost at your office we alert you first so you can quickly get things back to normal before the flood of calls from your customers. You can also set up alerts to notify you when certain things happen, such as when someone logs into a server or unplugs a cable from a switch.

Part of being proactive is automatically putting in fixes for things that can happen. Wouldn't it be nice to be told of an issue and then told immediately after that the issue has been fixed? We can set up automatic remediations such as restarting stopped services or even restarting your servers, to just about anything you can image.
